When I talk to HR about developing female employees, I often hear things like …


  • We actually have great women, but somehow they get lost.
  • We have a lot of female employees, but hardly any in senior management.
  • We would like to hire more women, but none of the applicants are female. 
  • Our women are either too reserved or too impulsive.
What is the reason for that?

Women in traditionally male-dominated industries repeatedly report similar difficulties. They feel invisible among men. Their ideas are not acknowledged, or they are challenged. Meetings are perceived as a battlefield. At a certain point they get tired of fighting.This often results in them becoming increasingly silent or too emotional. some even go so far as to resign from leadership positions, preferring to move back down.

For more than thirty years, research has shown that there are gender differences In communication objectives. However, this knowledge has not yet reached many businesses.  Our communication objectives have far-reaching implications for all important aspects of life and work.
